Participation of representatives of the State Electoral Commission of the Republic of Croatia at the High-level Event on Elections in Brussels, 23-24 October 2023
At the invitation of the European Commission, the delegation of the State Electoral Commission of the Republic of Croatia, consisting of SEC members Slaven Hojski and Draženko Pandek and deputy secretary Lada Jellačić, participated in the High-level Event on Elections that took place on 23-24 October 2023 in Brussels.
The event was an opportunity for the stakeholders to exchange opinions on current topics ahead of the European elections, such as the issue of conducting free, fair and threat-resistant European elections, media freedom in the digital world, political advertising, citizen participation in the conduct of elections, preventing the influence of third parties on elections, the fight against disinformation, the inclusive implementation of elections as well as cyber security of elections. The speakers were prominent representatives of the European Parliament, the European Commission, the Council of Europe, EU member states, the academic community and non-governmental organizations. SEC member Draženko Pandek addressed the participants at the 11th panel entitled "Addressing the resilience and cyber-security risks of election-related infrastructure" and briefly presented on how to protect the election IT infrastructure.
