Participation of representatives of the State Electoral Commission of the Republic of Croatia at the conference "European and Eurasian Regional Working Group for Social Networks, Disinformation and Electoral Integrity"
Draženko Pandek, a member of the SEC Croatia, participated on May 16 and 17, 2024, in the conference entitled "European and Eurasian Regional Working Group on Social Networks, Disinformation and Electoral Integrity" organized by the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES).
The aim of the conference was to re-establish the regional network, initiated in May 2020, to support EMBs in dealing with the challenges that malicious actors, social media and disinformation pose to electoral integrity and public trust. The focus was on the challenges that disinformation and generative artificial intelligence pose to electoral authorities, including ways to identify and mitigate these risks and other challenges.
