Pursuant to the Political Activity, Election Campaign and Referenda Financing Act (hereinafter: Financing Act), the State Electoral Commission of the Republic of Croatia supervises financing of political activities of political parties, independent Members of Parliament and members of representation bodies of units of local and regional self-government elected from a list of a group of voters (hereinafter: regular annual financing supervision).
In the supervision of regular annual financing, the State Electoral Commission supervises the annual financial operations and annual financial reports of political parties, independent Members of Parliament and members of representative bodies of local and regional self-government units elected from a list of a group of voters.
All supervised entities are obliged to submit their financial reports through the Financial Control Information System. All reports are published on the Commission web site enabling the Commission, the State Audit Office, as well as the public, to gain insight into financial reports promptly and thoroughly. The reports are published in open data format.
The report of the State Electoral Commission on concluded supervision is also being published at the web site of the Commission.
The Financing Act regulates, among other provisions, sources of financing, limitations of donations, obligations regarding separate account, obligations of submitting financial reports as well as misdemeanours provisions and administrative sanctions for breaches of the provisions of the Financing Act.
